A Story of Impact

When I first met Alex*, it was at our table in the Oakland University student center. They weren’t connected to any faith tradition, but what immediately stood out was their deep passion for community service and making a difference.

Beneath that drive, though, Alex was also carrying the weight of some painful family dynamics. As we got to know each other through regular life coaching conversations, Alex slowly began opening up — not just about life, but about deeper questions of meaning, identity, and faith.

When a significant family medical crisis hit, it opened a door for Alex to encounter God in a new and personal way. Today, Alex is walking forward with a sense of peace and purpose they didn’t have before.

It’s been humbling to be a small part of that journey — and even more incredible to watch God move through every conversation, challenge, and breakthrough.

Why Your Support Matters

Outside support is vital because it allows Zoē Oakland to remain a steady presence for college students and young adults in a season of life marked by big questions, deep loneliness, and searching for purpose. It fuels spaces of belonging, spiritual growth, and community connection that many students can’t find anywhere else. Your support helps bridge the gap between what students are facing and the hope Jesus offers.

Partner churches provide financial support and help create service opportunities for students. Individuals give financially, serve on our board, or rally support in their churches and congregational allies.
